
On 11th October,2024, members of our cooperative had the honor of attending a vital meeting and training session led by the Federal Director of Cooperatives in Abuja. This event provided an incredible opportunity for our members to engage directly with key stakeholders in the cooperative sector, learning about the latest initiatives, policies, and regulations that will impact cooperatives across the nation.
The session kicked off with a welcoming address from the Director, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and cooperatives to promote sustainable growth in agriculture and other sectors. He highlighted the role of cooperatives in empowering communities, improving livelihoods, and driving economic development, especially at the grassroots level.
Throughout the training, participants were introduced to new strategies for improving cooperative management, record-keeping, and financial sustainability. Practical workshops were held to discuss best practices in leadership, governance, and member engagement, ensuring that each cooperative is equipped to face challenges and seize opportunities in the evolving economic landscape.
Additionally, attendees had the chance to ask questions and receive guidance on how to access government support programs, grants, and loans designed to bolster cooperative efforts. The Federal Director shared insights on upcoming government initiatives aimed at supporting agricultural cooperatives, as well as opportunities for training and capacity building.
This meeting was a valuable experience for our members, providing them with the tools and knowledge needed to strengthen our cooperative and contribute more effectively to our community.
